Purnendra Meshram is an India-based movement artist who works nationally and internationally. Though he started dancing way back in his childhood, his professional career started in 2013 when he joined the Attakkalari diploma for Movement Arts with Mix Media. Trained under some of the finest mentors in the world, his training combines contemporary dance techniques with hip-hop and Kalaripayattu.

 

He has worked with many renowned choreographers in India and abroad and is currently creating his own works. His recent piece ‘2 men’ won first prize at Festival 10 Sentidos (Spain) and runner up title in PECDA 2018 (Chennai, India).

Purnendra is a recipient of the Pina Bausch Fellowship
